Bring your team together to learn how editorial choices can build narratives that shape, and are shaped by, our communities. We lead interactive workshops (virtual or in person when safe) for newsrooms of all shapes and sizes. We can also customize our flagship workshop to include content areas of interest, like economic mobility, elections, protests and social justice, and more.
Source Tracking
Diversifying the voices amplified in our reporting and sharing power with those featured in our work are key means to building trust between journalists and our communities. We’ve developed a method for source tracking in newsrooms that meets these goals by educating journalists on data collection during interviews, creating easy-to-use data management systems, and working with newsroom leadership to determine and measure their objectives.
Community Engagement
Modifier has developed a set of adaptable best practices for building trust and centering community voices in reporting. We offer support to newsrooms and collaboratives across the country, through trainings and workshops on building community/neighborhood partnerships and facilitating long-term trust-building.
